About Us
Andrew Hoffert and Jennifer McDonnell
Andrew Hoffert and Jennifer McDonnell are excited to be the new owners of Kahu Care! We are married, have a son, and we are both pharmacists. We also own Nelson Clinic Pharmacy in Nelson, British Columbia. When we are not working, we can often be found playing outside regardless of the season.
In 2018, we were introduced to topical niacinamide by the founders of Kahu Care lotion, Dr. Chris Cochrane and Joanna Cochrane. Chris first learned about the use of oral and topical niacinamide for sun-damaged skin while attending a Melanoma Skin Cancer Conference in Brisbane, Australia.
After returning home, Chris worked with Andrew, who compounded a variety of topical niacinamide lotions in different strengths and bases. Joanna then refined the results, helping transform those early formulations into this amazing lotion.

lasting hydration to your skin
Our Kahu Care lotions contain niacinamide used to provide lasting hydration to your skin, reduce the signs of aging by smoothing wrinkles and fine lines, maintaining a healthy lipid barrier, decreasing both sebum production and inflammation as well as pigmentation.
The Sensitive lotion contains 5% niacinamide and is used for acne, rosacea and those with sensitive skin.
The Forté lotion contains 10% niacinamide to help target photoaging and is for those with normal to dry skin types.
